Co-working sessions focus on action: set a goal, work for 50 minutes, and reflect on your progress. These sessions help you build momentum and turn your goals into results.

Burning Questions 🔥
-
This course is ideal for making significant progress on a chapter of a book or dissertation or drafting a journal article. It’s helpful to have your research completed—or at least far enough along to begin writing—but this isn’t a strict requirement.
You can also bring a previously drafted project that needs substantial revision to prepare for publication or defense. The focus is on active writing and developing sustainable habits, so having a project in progress is key.
If you’re unsure whether your project fits, feel free to email me at jenn@jennmcclearen.com, and we can discuss it together.

The videos in each weekly module will be approximately 30 minutes long, with accompanying exercises that can take 15 minutes or longer, depending on your level of engagement. Engaging in the community is entirely up to you, though it’s strongly encouraged for additional support and accountability.
If you’re enrolled in the Momentum tier, plan to dedicate one hour each week to either group coaching or co-working sessions. During co-working, you’ll be actively making progress on your writing project—so it’s time well spent!
-
No problem! You’ll have lifetime access to all the course materials, including any future updates. This means you can return to the content at any time, whether you’re ready to dive in now or want to revisit certain sections later. Progress isn’t about finishing on a schedule; it’s about moving forward.
-
That’s exactly why Flourish exists. The course starts by helping you clarify your priorities and break down big projects into manageable steps. Instead of adding to your overwhelm, it’s designed to help you create clarity and focus, so you know exactly where to start and how to keep going.
-
Like anything worthwhile, you’ll get out of Flourish what you put into it. The more engaged you are—whether it’s watching the lessons, completing the exercises, or connecting with the community—the more transformational the experience will be.
That said, Flourish is designed with busy scholars in mind. It’s not about adding more to your plate; it’s about helping you work smarter and align your efforts with your goals. To truly see results, you need to believe that investing in yourself is not just important—it’s vital.
This is your opportunity to break free from old habits, approach your work differently, and build a sustainable, fulfilling writing practice. Commit to this journey, and you’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish.
-
I hear this all the time as a scholarly writing coach, and it’s why Flourish is intentionally designed for people who feel like they don’t have time. The course helps you make space for what truly matters, saving you time in the long run. If you’re feeling too busy now, ask yourself, “Realistically, will I ever have the time unless I learn to do things differently?”
That’s all the more reason to join—we teach you tools to regain control of your schedule.
-
Of course, only you can answer this question. But I’d encourage you to think about what it’s costing you to stay stuck—missed deadlines, stress, or the feeling of falling short of your potential. Flourish gives you the tools to break those patterns, make meaningful progress, and build a sustainable writing practice. Your time, energy, and well-being are worth the investment.

I prefer to accept payments via Stripe, which securely processes credit and debit cards. Often, your university can use their procurement card (ProCard) for payment, or they may reimburse you directly. I recommend contacting your university’s finance or administrative office as soon as possible to confirm their process.
If your university requires a different form of payment, please reach out to me at jenn@jennmcclearen.com, and I’ll work with you to find a solution.
-
Yes! For your convenience, the Foundation Tier can be divided into four monthly payments, and the Momentum Tier can be divided into six monthly payments.
A Personal Note from Jenn
I created this course because I know exactly how it feels to be where you are.
Early in my career, I often struggled to understand how the system worked, to manage what felt like an endless mountain of tasks, and to find any sense of balance between my academic life and my personal well-being. It was overwhelming, isolating, and, at times, exhausting. But I also know that change is possible.
Over time, I learned how to work smarter, not harder. I developed writing habits and strategies that helped me manage my workload more effectively, making consistent progress on my projects. These practices carried into a successful research career as a professor at an R1 university, where I learned how to sustain productivity without compromising my values.
You feel the same pressures I once faced—the constant demand to do more, often without the support you deserve.
Academia’s capitalistic, individualistic structures can make it easy to feel like you’re constantly behind or that you have to handle everything on your own.
That’s why I created Flourish—a space where your humanity comes first.
This course is designed to give you the tools and support to create positive momentum in your own writing. It offers practical strategies, expert guidance, and a supportive community, all tailored to help you navigate your unique challenges as a scholar. While I can’t guarantee specific outcomes, I truly believe that if you engage fully with the course, you’ll see meaningful progress and start building habits that serve you well beyond these 10 weeks.
The results you want—a sustainable writing practice and a full life—take effort and commitment, but you already have what it takes. Taking this step can feel like a leap, but consider this: what’s the bigger risk—staying stuck and overwhelmed or giving yourself the opportunity to try a new approach?
Investing in yourself isn’t just about this course; it’s about laying the foundation for a more sustainable and fulfilling way of working. You don’t have to figure this out alone, and you don’t have to keep feeling like you’re falling behind. I’m here to support you every step of the way.
Join me in Flourish, and let’s take this step together. Your work—and your well-being—matter.
